This technique can be used to hide email addresses so that you don’t disclose everyone’s email address to everyone else. That way, when you send a message to a group of producers or record execs, you’ll be sure that other peoples’ addresses aren’t compromised.

To fix this problem when you’re sending out mass emails and you want to keep your contact list private, use BCC which stands for Blind Carbon Copy.  Every email service has this feature.  Warning: Do not confuse BCC with CC they are two different things and people can still see your contacts if you use CC so stay away from it.  You want BCC.

After you find the BCC line all you have to do is type your email in the top Recipient line (This line usually says To:) and then paste your contact list into the BCC line so when you click send all your recipients they won’t see anybody else that you send it to.

This feature is wonderful especially if you’re sending your music out to other insiders at once.  It doesn’t look good when you’re sending your package to a lot people and they see you already sent the same thing to 100 other people.  People like to have exclusive material; we are competitive and strive to be first in everything.

So think about that the next time you’re sending out mass emails.

Good Luck

The Correct Way To Email Multiple Recipients Your Music
When sending multiple emails a lot of folks just copy and paste in to the address line.  This usually and almost always is not the best thing to do when you’re sending the word out about your music to a list of people at once.  One reason why is because everybody who you send the message to are able to see all of your email addresses.

Its cool I suppose if you really don’t care.  But say you have the VP of a major record label's address in the sea of other ones you just sent.  A lot of people treasure their contacts, i know I do.  I also have seen a lot of folks send out mass emails not meaning to because they pasted their contacts into the wrong address line.

And I’m sure you know how that goes.  You accidently send out information on your new cd that’s about to drop putting your email contacts in the wrong address line and 15 minutes later your getting a email from another artist or promoter or what have you, and dang it if you don’t see the same contact list that you just sent out.  I’ve seen it over and over again.
