2.  Get It Mastered

Like your mix? Does it sound great? Just wait, it gets better. Time to go get it mastered.  Mastering is one of the many mystery arts of music not just any engineer can do it with great proficiency.  Mastering gives your record the final polished feel and sound of a commercial record. J-Mill does it for his releases, so should you. In the hands of the right people mastering will have you sounding street certified.


Tons of information has been presented to you here in this the first of three articles. Technical consideration can save your tunes before they get started.  I always take these tips and apply them to every session I do before, during and after, I suggest you do the same. Although there is a myriad of other things to consider these will help you keep your joints in check before they get loose and someone else like me hears it and points it out.

1.  Get It Mixed!!!

This in mind take your songs to get mixed!!!  I can't express how much i hear songs on myspace.com or other websites that I listen to and say, "if only it had been mixed could it sound clear and more record like."  Mix engineers are all over the world waiting to turn your songs in to records.  It may cost you but there is no trade-off for the great value of a
