Making big decisions is empowering! God's given us this astounding gift of free-will and we're frightened to make use of it. I promise you this: You'll be defeated more in life making no decisions than you will by making the wrong decisions. Take this and remember it. You have to go for the gusto. Take your career into your own hands and go for what you know. You will learn a lot and network, network, network. And then when your done networking….network some more.
We say we want to be the best. We want that #1 spot but to many times when we are called to make the play we drop the ball. Some of us fail because of the fear of trying itself. The saying goes there is nothing to fear but fear itself. Life is calling --- Answer it!!! You're guaranteed to miss every shot that you don't take. Become conscious of all the decisions that are around you. Also start to appreciate the power that you have to make them. In the moments of decision, our destiny is set.
Believe in yourself. Believe that you are supposed to being doing this. Trust that this is what God has planned for you. Many nights I wanted to quit this music thing. Shady promoters and dishonest club owners. There were times when I quit. At least that’s what I called it at the time…but I bounced back because I believed God was putting certain things in front of me leading me right back to the love of my life…Music. But I firmly stood by all the decisions that I made. Some decisions propelled my career and some held it back.
Now I'm not saying that you should be stubborn. Formulate decisions; stick by them unless there's a considerable reason not to. When I say considerable - I mean considerable!! Very frequently we make decisions, a one minute thing gets in the way of the decision. It’s going to boil down to one thing. When you’re at that cross road in your life and this music thing is questioned, you’re going to have to make a decision to go left or go right. And then when you make decision will you stick by it?
Make decisions and stick to them. Guys like Russell Simmons and Jay Z have learned to make decisions all the time. Their whole day is full of nothing but enormous decision making. I believe that God gives you opportunitys all the time...almost everyday. We always look for the big opportunity and instead of grasping the small ones that come at us on a consistent basis. The first step is to become aware that decisions are all around you. You can either make the big decision to stay where you are or to choose the road headed toward the life you have chosen for yourself.
